How Calendar Syncing Works
Understanding the sync process helps set expectations:
- Automatic Updates: Your calendar app checks for changes periodically (usually every 15 minutes to several hours)
- New RSVPs: When you RSVP to an event, it will appear in your subscribed calendar within the next sync cycle
- Cancelled Events: If an event is cancelled or you change your RSVP, it will be removed from your calendar
- Series Sessions: All sessions in a recurring series appear as individual events with session numbers
- Event Changes: Updates to event times, locations, or details sync automatically
Most calendar apps refresh subscribed calendars every few hours by default. Check your calendar app's settings if you need more frequent updates.
Managing Your Calendar Subscription
Regenerate Your URL
If you suspect your calendar feed URL has been shared or compromised:
- Open the Calendar Subscription modal
- Click Regenerate URL
- Update your calendar app subscriptions with the new URL
When you regenerate your URL, the old one immediately stops working. Make sure to update all calendar apps where you've added the subscription.
Revoke Access
To completely disable your calendar feed:
- Open the Calendar Subscription modal
- Click Revoke Access
- Your calendar feed URL will no longer work
- Remove the subscription from your calendar apps
You can generate a new URL anytime you want to re-enable the feature.
Add to External Calendar
Export individual events to your personal calendar:
- Click on an event
- Look for the Add to Calendar option
- Choose your calendar:
- Google Calendar
- Apple Calendar
- Outlook
- Download .ics file
For the best experience, use the calendar subscription feature above to automatically sync all your events. Use the "Add to Calendar" option only for one-off events you want to ensure you don't miss.
Calendar Notifications
Stay informed about your schedule:
- Event reminders - Get notified before events start
- Schedule changes - Be alerted when event times change
- Cancellations - Know immediately if events are cancelled
Configure notification preferences in your notification settings.
Mobile Calendar
On mobile devices:
- The calendar adapts to your screen size
- Swipe to navigate between days and weeks
- Tap events to see details
- All the same features as desktop
Tips for Using the Calendar
Make it a habit to check your calendar at the start of each week to see what's coming up.
If you're in many groups, use filters to focus on what's most important to you.
For can't-miss events, export them to your personal calendar and set additional reminders.
Troubleshooting

If expected events aren't appearing:
- Check that you're actually registered (not just interested)
- Verify your filter settings aren't hiding the events
- Make sure you're in the correct date range
- Try refreshing the page
Wrong Times Displayed
If event times seem incorrect:
- Check your device's timezone settings
- Events display in your local timezone
- Contact the group leader if the listed time seems wrong
