Push notifications are real-time alerts that appear on your desktop or mobile device. They work similar to app notifications on your phone, allowing you to stay updated without keeping the website open.

In-App Notifications
In-app notifications appear in the notification bell icon in the header. These include:
- All the same notification types as email
- Quick access to relevant pages
- Mark as read/unread functionality
Customize Your Preferences
For each notification category, you can choose:
- All notifications - Receive every notification
- Important only - Only receive critical updates
- None - Don't receive this type of notification
We recommend keeping Event Reminders and Event Updates enabled so you don't miss important changes to activities you've registered for.
Managing Notification Frequency
For email notifications, you can also set:
- Immediate - Receive each notification as it happens
- Daily Digest - Receive a summary email once per day
- Weekly Digest - Receive a summary email once per week

If you want to stop receiving email notifications:
- Click Unsubscribe at the bottom of any Homeschool Hive email
- Or go to Account Settings > Notifications and disable email notifications
Some emails related to your account security (password resets, email verification) cannot be disabled, as they're required for account access.
